Hello there

So I thought I'd make a blog so you can get to know me on a more personal level, after all, you need to feel completely comfortable with your photographer.

I'm married to an amazing man who supports me and all that I want to do in life, we went to high school together and I had a crush on him in year 7! We didn't fall in love till after school and although we are so different in so many ways, somehow, we are perfect together, Yin & Yang. We have a beautiful little boy, who has a smile that brightens the world and a wonderful boxer dog who just wants to be with us at all times. I have an amazing family and wonderful friends, all of whom I would do anything for and who I couldn't live without.

My passion in life (other than my family and friends) is my photography. I feel so privileged to be able to work in the industry I love so much and even more privileged to be chosen to take your photos and be a part of your special occasions. My passion for photography started when I was 16 and my Dad and I use to set up a dark room together. He taught me all about how a camera works and we had so much fun experimenting in the dark room that it soon became my passion and my career goal.

After high school I completed a BA in Photography at Charles Sturt University in Albury. In the 3 years I was at uni I learnt so much and I left uni more determined than ever to follow my dreams. One thing was certain, I wanted to take portrait photos, I loved getting to know a person through the lens of a camera and wanted to create natural, fun photos. I took my first wedding photos while at uni and slowly did more weddings through word of mouth. Nothing made me happier than photographing a wedding or doing a portrait photo shoot. After one wedding I came home on cloud nine, I hadn't been so happy in a long time and it was my husband that encouraged me to start a web site, advertise and really make a go of having my own business. Now here I am, still on cloud nine after every photo shoot and still loving what I do. The dark room in the laundry with my Dad is gone but my passion has only grown.

So some general trivia about me other than my passion for what I do - I love with all my heart, I love to watch a good chick flick with my girls, my favourite chocolates are malteesers and I love Italian food. I love summer for swimming and winter for skiing. I love to cuddle! Beautiful shoes and boots are my fashion weakness. My favourite sound in the world, is the sound of my son laughing, it brings a smile to my face and makes my heart leap. I'm at my happiest, the real me, with a camera in my hand or spending time with my loved ones (both is even better!)

Now you know a little more about me, feel free to say hi, I'd love to know more about you too, after all, it helps me take a photo that reflects the true you.

Elicia & Kristin's Wedding - 29th April 2011

What a fantastic day Aleah's Lens had with Elicia and Kristin on their wedding day. Jodie and I both attended as photographers for the day and had a great day. We battled the weather, waves, limited time and we even ran out of sunshine, but we still had a fantastic day with a wonderful couple. Elicia and Kristin are such a beautiful couple, they are both great people and are so clearly in love with each other. The bridal party where all great too, we had lots of fun and even with the rain etc, everyone was still having fun. We went to the lower lighthouse for photos, the waves where crashing nicely, thought we'd get a great shot of the waves crashing over the rocks behind the couple, of course as we set up the shot though, a massive set came in and the wave came over where we were! Luckily we weren't closer or it would have gone over the top of us, it crashed onto the ground and swept across our feet, soaking all our feet and the bottom of poor Elicia's dress. Luckily Elicia, Kristin and the bridal party were able to laugh it off as we quickly got out of the area. A wedding I wont forget and not just because of that wave, but because of the wonderful couple and their friends. Thanks for a fantastic day and the honour of being your photographer, I know you will both live a long and happy life together.

The happy couple had the ceremony at Mt Keira Lookout, unfortunately there was no view but it's still such a beautiful spot.

This is the wave that left us with wet and soggy feet! But I think it was worth it.

We were starting to loose light but the silver lining to that was, the lights were on at Market Square.

I love this shot, so intimate and romatic.

Thanks again Elicia and Kristin for the honour of being your wedding photographer. All the best from Aleah & Jodie at Aleah's Lens.

Amy & Richard - 27th March 2011

Amy and Richard's wedding was wet but wonderful. Jodie and I went together to this one and had a great time - even if we did come home a little soggy! I just loved her flowers, they where so beautiful and went perfectly witht he natural theme of the day, from the farm to the scout camp it was a day of natural beauty. And then you have the stunning bride, Amy and her husband Richard, what a lovely couple. They braved the rain and we got some great shots and had a good time. Enjoy a long and happy life together guys and thank you for having us there, at the start of your marriage together. xox

See, beautiful flowers, bride and farms are always great for photos.

Is this not a stunning spot to get married

Loved this limo - such a great colour.

We had to take shelter under the trees - but worked out great.

Umbrellas where needed this day! But still so romantic and beautiful, a reminder that it doesn't matter what the weather does, it's still the greatest of days.

Love this shot.

A few more shots in the natural beauty of the scout camp before heading in doors to stay warm and dry.

Thanks for a great day Amy and Richard.

Baby Kye @ 5 Weeks Old

Here are some of my favourites of the beautiful little baby boy Kye, who was only 5 weeks and 4 days old when they where taken. Such a cute baby and such loving wonderful parents. Thanks Amanda and Ben for the honour of taking your new born photos. xox

As soon as I saw this bear I just knew I had to use it in the photos, so perfect for holding a little baby. So sweet and beautiful.

I love this photos because having Amanda's hand there really shows how little he is and it's just such a loving gesture.

I love a naked baby! So adorable!

I absolutely love these photos of Amanda and Kye, so loving, so beautiful and so cute! Love Kye's little bottom and those tiny toes peaking out the bottom.

I chose a lot in black and white from this shoot, it just looks so clasic and beautiful. I do love the colour too though, the
colour of that baby skin against the black.

This photo I think is georgeous, really shows how little he is on Daddy's arm.

Ben is such a wonderful Dad and husband. Such a proud Daddy of his little boy too. The black and white here, Kye was actually getting upset for a feed but you wouldn't know it in this photo, the way Ben comforts him and looks at him.

Such a beautiful family.

Right at the end of the shoot Kye decided to show us his smile - and doesn't that smile light up his Mummy's face!
Thanks guys for a great photo shoot. Love to all.

Family Photos

I've been keeping myself busy lately with lots of family photos but I've been a bit slack on updating the blog. So with the permission of some of my wonderful families, I've got 2 lots to post. Here is the first lot, Logan, Kobi and Zahli! Beautiful kids and so much fun to photograph. Enjoy. xox

Zahli with her angel wings, isn't she adorable!

I just love these shots of Kobi in his Eagles jersey and motorbike gear! So cute!

Logan looked great with his motorbike gear on and that fabulous helmet!

Had to get out the Tonka, it gives great colour and is so perfect for a boy photo.
